Ha - I was 16, just broken up with my first love and got over him by falling in love with someone else. Worked brilliantly to get over him! :)

Do you feel like something is missing from your life if you're not in a relationship? Just a question. I'm not being arsy.

No not at all, I was single (ish) for 3 years after I split up with my second serious boyfriend and had a ball. Travelling and Uni wouldn't have been the same. Now settling down again, and I love being in a relationship. Either way suits and doesn't suit.

She meant to get over a man who you loved, meet someone else who you can fall in love with. :) you should know better than most!

Hmm, I suppose if one interprets "get under" to be "get under the spell of", then that is a bit less whoreish.

Yes.

Wow, this thread is making me feel so special. ;)

Did you misread something...?

Don't think so. :)

Oh that is so sad for one to think that they are missing out with out a mate. I pride myself on being free. ;)

Beat advice from my dad.

Be true to who you are and respect earth, paths walked and family. If you do this your life will reap rewards of personal peace and love.

I think I know what she means. It doens't make her feel very special saying that you need a relationship and although you don't mean it like this, but it sounds like she could have been anyone..

Best advice I ever got was from my Uncle Collie, who said: "if it's sleeping, don't f**k it". Wise words indeed from a man who knew.

Howso? To feel that you'd like to be with someone and share with them? On that kind of narrow-sighted viewpoint, I could said that your 'need' to be free, as you put it, shows an overwhelming selfishness.

Very true there though.

No it does not show an overwhelming selfishness. Having to be in a relationship is far more selfish than being okay without.

Especially if they go on comedy boards and ram their naueseating lovey-doveyness down other peoples throats. Fortunately, that hasn't happened round these parts yet. Whistling nnocently

On what possible basis do you work that one out?
