I'm looking forward to the new movie Anvil! The Story Of Anvil about a Canadian rock band and their travails. On IMDb it's currently got a higher rating than Citizen Kane! It's out in the UK on Friday. It's a documentary which may remind viewers of This Is Spinal Tap, in that it's about a rock band that has seen better days, but the members never give up hope. One of the band members is called Robb Reiner, but not the one who directed Spinal Tap. Sounds like a treat for BSGers.
Er... The Story Of Anvil?

Also worth mentioning Still Crazy. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0149151
They called their main character Robb Reiner? That's a little on the nose isn't it?
IMDb credits:
Robb Reiner ... Himself
(RR's page only has this one entry though.)
I'm not a metal fan, so I've never heard of Anvil, but apparently they have been going for years, and Robb Reiner & Steve Kudlow are their real names. Also they really did have a female manager, and were second billed to a puppet show. Hmm... sounds bogus but apparently it's true.
So it is a REAL documentary and not a mockumentary?
Eep. Careful now.

It seems to be a real documentary, about a band which is uncannily like Spinal Tap in some ways. There's footage on YouTube of them in younger days, and references to earlier albums on the internet.
Well the last mockumentary you watched, expecting a documentary, made you jolly cross.
I love mockumentaries. What was that film, zooo?

Really? Robb Reiner? What are the chances?

Well that was specifically publicised as a documentary. And wasn't funny. Unless you have AIDS in your face. And I'm unlikely to watch this one anyway.
I read an article about this film, it sounds brilliant. It is completely real too, they are two real guys who have been making music together for years and failing to get anywhere (apart from a brief period in the 1980s when they supposedly nearly made it). There's apparently an online petition somewhere to get them to open at Glastonbury.
I have AIDS in my face.
