Have you tried any of the production companies that produce the stuff for cbeebies, Milk Shake, etc? Cosgrove Hall, etc?

No but I will do now! Thanks Dolly. :)

The latest news is that Paramount Comedy is turning into Comedy Central in April, and a third of it's output will be original UK commissions.

Hey, Mark, do you have any other info about this?

To be honest when we're newbies we will take a script anywhere that is interested. My active pilot script was passed on to C4 direct who then selected the producer/prod company to develop it.
Remember also that BBC is a big place, with no set consensus. Just as well otherwise I'd be f**ked there! Best of luck.

:)

Sorry, not really. The commissions will all be given to established independent comedy production companies (the usual suspects I imagine)... so the indies are still the best place to send your stuff.

It's good news as, with Comedy Central as a new outlet (client), these companies will be looking for more ideas than previously :)

I sent a script for a feature film to the BBC about a year or two ago. They read the whole thing and gave me feedback. Very odd feedback.
I wonder what to do with my new projects a sketch show and a sitcom. Should I send them to the BBC first, or to other companies first? Or to both at the same time?

On the BBC pitching site they seem to prefer being pitched to by prodcos. So your sitcom maybe produced by the BBC after you sold it to a prodco (many of whom are easier to access)

Was it in hieroglyphics?

If you run this subject heading together it kind of looks like "Is the BBC the Bell End?", which in many ways it is.

I thought that too! I'm too much of a lady to mention it though.

Are you a campanologist then Dolly?
