118 118 Need Jokes Page 36

It's a shame as it did provide a bit of pocket money here and there.

Bummer for Sootyj though as it was major income for him.
Also bummer for Random who never got that illustration/gag project off the ground.

Bummer for everyone involved. Inevitable, but a bummer nontheless.

But look on the bright side - those that sold gags are now technically published comedy writers, and f**k anyone that tries to tell you different. A big company bought your gags to sell on to the British public after all. So I say well done to all of you - and if you can, try to see it as a small taste of things to come when you move on to bigger and far better things.

(That's a big bravo from me)

Hey Lee, pic reminds me of one I sent in but that wasn't used.

What cars do fatalists drive? Fiat Accompli.

I thagyew!

Did you send that? It's good

:)

Sorry, didn't mean to sound so surprised ;)

Dan

Oh yes! That and another 300 +

Now I'm surprised ;)

Yes, I definitely agree there.

I have the line "and I also write jokes for 118" on my website's "about me" section as, after all, it is a writing credit. :)

Yeah me too except I don't have a website but if I did have I would have(it on there that is). It's certainly on my CV though but.

Fortunately I'm a terrible pessimist and banked my earnings. Now do I invest in a state of the art airbook or a web book and some sweets?

Neither as I am on a food replacement diet and living on horrible shakes.

Those earnings are now being used for bank bosses bonuses. :P

Go for it! Get that Mac Book Thingy.
(although.... Mac?)

Whatever it is that you are replacing food with, I think if it's giving you horrible shakes you should leave it alone. :O

Any ideas where else one could sell their jokes? I can't be the only writer here with a hard disc gravid with zippy one liners.

Maybe we could bundle all ours together as a project?

N.B. just found a website looking for jokes and offering $50 per 1000!

I'm working with a company at the moment on a premium rate joke service, and that will require SMS material, but the emphasis will be on topical jokes only, and only one used per a day.

When the plans are clearer in the next few weeks I'll post something on here about how to submit material and explaining the payment structure.

I suspect you'll make your first million within the month! :)
