In my big school photo when I was 12 I looked like the girl most likely to murder her classmates - my frown was that evident.

My parents would make me cut it that "short" at the beginning of the school year when class photos were taken. Then I'd let it grow for another 12 months and 6 inches. Due to my thick mop and Florida's humidity I could go to school with my hair wet and when I got home 7 hours later it would still be damp.
True fact: I haven't used a comb since I was about 5 years old.

I've used brushes, of course, but my hair is too thick for a comb. It's only 1/4 of an inch long now and there's a big ol' bald spot in the middle, so it's a moot point.
