3 weeks ago, an idea for a sitcom popped into my head.
Within hours, I'd thought of the premises for 4 episodes out of 6. (With the other 2 premises coming to me the next day.)
I felt my brain was going to explode with all the ideas that were bubbling up inside it for this sitcom.
Instantly, I thought of all the main characters and jottled down loads of notes; i.e. conversations, character traits, storylines, etc.
Then, in just under three weeks, I wrong the WHOLE series,(6 episodes) with the last two being rather unique for a sitcom as episode 5 and 6 is basically one two-part story.
That time duration included going back over it and editing/polishing it.
The good thing is, it's the characters that drive this sitcom.
I'm rather proud of the characters.
The sitcom has a "setting", but it's mostly the exchanges betwen the two lead characters that drive it along.
I know I shouldn't have written all of it at once as a producer is bound to want me to change some bits, but I had this insatiable "FLOW" that I couldn't stop.
That's never happened to me before as, usually, it takes that long for me to write ONE episode of something.
Has anything like that happened to anyone else?
Or do you always plod along at a normal pace when writing.
