What do you write on? Do you go directly onto a computer, or scribble it out in illegible longhand first?
Paper first?
Brainstorming sessions go to paper. Ideas, as they occur, go to a pad. All actual drafts go straight to PC. It's an easier medium to edit / chop / substitute.
Always on paper first.
I use the same process as SlagA.
Pad, paper, PC
Doesn't anyone else just sit in their red leather armchair wearing a smoking jacket, a fez on their head and simply dictate to their stenographer???
Paper for messy first draft, then write it up on pc whilst swearing and complaining.

You know you don't have to do *everything* Micheal Jacob tells you, don't you?

No one told me!!!
Notebook (as in paper), PC, commissioner's desk, bin.
It varies. If I'm at a computer and a sketch is popping into my head, then I just start typing, even if I only get a few lines in, it's enough of a note for later and goes in the 'Incomplete' folder on my memory stick.
Often I have ideas or think about it while commuting so it gets scribbled down in my notebook. Sometimes the sketch will start appearing at the same time so that gets written down and transferred to computer at the next opportunity.
So my notebook is full of ideas that went nowhere, ideas that got typed up later and the occasional sketch or half sketch that got transferred and finished on computer. Half sketches from my notebook which aren't going anywhere tend to stay where they are and not get typed up.

Exercising your enornmous what?
I tend to go on a massive boozing rampage for inspiration and get banged-up overnight in the cells. The next morning I usually find perfectly-formed sketches and comedic ideas that I've written in shit on the walls.
Not really. I do everything on my PC. Paper? Tish. You cavemen.

I find it tricky to be really creative from blank in front of a computer screen. I prefer lounging around, perhaps upside down, scribbling into a pad.
