An old joke - Animated

Hi,

This is a quick animation I made, please check it out. It's based on a joke my dad has been saying for the past 30 years. I don't know where it originated from, it feels Tommy Cooper-ish. I don't know if anyone can clear that up?

Thanks and I hope you like.

Hi Dude,

It was good I have heard it before not sure where though, stupid question how long it take you to do?

I'm interested to know if your dad made his head fall off. :D

Thanks Gavin. This was a quick one, about 6 hours, fed up with spending ages on stuff that nobody sees.

lol, I might have changed a few of the details! :)

.
"Don't do it then."

A woman goes to see the Doctor, lifts up her right arm and says, "Every time I do that it hurts". The Doctor replies "So don't do it then" (Tommy Cooper)

Variations of the above:-

Every time I drink too much, I feel terrible the next morning:-
So don't do it then.

Whenever I think about my divorce, I get very upset and cry:-
So don't do it then.

Every time I talk about your mother, it ends up in a row:-
So don't do it then.

Every time I post an animation, people say it's shit.
So don't do it then.

;)

Haha

It got a laugh.
My work here is done.

I think it's an excellent idea to bang a few of these things out as quickly as possible. They won't all be winners but you'll learn stuff from each one.

This particular one was a very old joke, but the non-sequiteur-iness of the ending made me smile. And I like to smile.

The smile as he booted the head off-screen made it all worthwhile.

Thanks James. Ah good! I owed you a few smiles from the Chad banger episodes! I'm going to animate this way from now on I think. It was much more enjoyable too knowing I wasn't going to be bogged down in a big project. Next Sundays animation is already written.

Thanks mate, that's my favourite bit too.

Tried to write on your blog, but had to sign up, so didn't bother, for now ;).

Just wanted to say, I'm impressed with the flower you animated and in general your progress over the years.

Thanks mate, that's very kind of you. I had some help on another forum making the petal physics work. Blender is an ace program for stuff like that!

Lol, I didn't know you had to register! I'll see if I can change it :)

I remember trying Blender but felt overwhelmed by it. That was a few years ago though, I think I'll have another look at it.
