Well I know that Alan has more DVDs. Something like 5,000 I think he said (and that was the middle of last year.)
But then he stores his data very differently to me, and collects a lot of dramas and films too. IIRC, he only collects sitcoms and comedy-drama types though (not sketch, satire, or panel shows). And I have the odd documentary. And lots of radio shows.
So, uh, as far as discs go, Alan has more. As far as comedy content goes, I'd guess we're more or less equal.
I believe the story is that Mark was fashioned from a fine mesh, filled with Two Pints of Lager DVDs, and papier machéed over. He found Aaron in a My Family boxset box just outside Teddington Studios, with a note saying 'Pleez tayk ker off mee an teeeech me gramer propr'.
I think that probably explains a lot about them both, tbh...

He felt that this place was too addictive, given his primary interests, and had other things to do. Plus I gather he's quite busy in his personal life anyway. I'm pretty sure he still browses (and still writes guides for the BCG at times), but just doesn't post.

The truth is quite boring... I set the site up, then Aaron emailed me to point out some of my (many) spelling mistakes... and the rest is history.
I think it's quite a good partnership... we have very different tastes in comedy. As is well documented, Aaron tends to like classic studio sitcoms, whilst I'm more of a fan of the modern subtle and surreal stuff. It keeps the site balanced - e.g. it stops me going away and writing an overly gushing review of Cowards (I loved, Aaron disliked), and visa-versa on some of the old stuff.
Aaron definitely has more DVDs than me. I only collect shows I really love. Anyway, there's too much current comedy to keep on top of (over 10 hours a week) for me to be re-watching old stuff.

And that's a cool enough story because the influences help level everything a bit, I don't think the boards would have grow without the combined powers of Aaron and Mark (which can occasionally be used to fight evil).
