Peterborough,we've met before I think. Surely there's not more than one person there who can use the net?
Play & Record - BBC... Page 5
Hmm, I sent mine Monday morning at 0048, but I haven't had an auto reply yet.
If you've had the automated response it means you are out, kaput, you are not required! That's how it works... this is to stop you from bombarding them with queries...
I got the automated response, by the way...
The way I see rejection, that Victoria wouldn't know a funny sketch if it bit her on her smelly arse!
The reason I know by the way is because someone I know HAS had a sketch accepted, and he never got the automated response...

How does that work Frankie? Think about, yep think hard... there you go, it doesn't make sense does it? Unless they anaylysed both my sketches in 5 seconds which is how long it took me to get a response.

Well if you really got your response in five secs then I am wrong, it's as simple as that... but as I say in my above post, I know someone who HAS got accepted and he never got the automated response, hence my (wrong?) conclusion...
No problem, sorry bout the tone. I was a bit annoyed earlier by something that happened earlier (not related to BSG) and took it out on you. Sorry Frankie they might have me on a black list or something. When did the person you know get contacted?

After a few days... they sent his sketch back and asked for a rewrite of the second half, which he duly did and then they accepted it and invited him along for the recording... I sent in two sketches and got my automated response after two days... I'm taking it as a "no thanks"...
Hey, listen man... no apology needed I am pretty robust and we all shoot from the hip from time to time ... that's because we're artists and we care about our work ... of course we get wound up... who wouldn't in this world and we're only human after all...
Thanks Frankie, I still shouldn't have written above as it was very immature. Anyway looks like i'll have to start work on a second suicide note "It was the blood Play and Record that pushed me over the edge..."
They way I see it... with Play & Record you've probably got a few pimply moronic BBC types selecting what they think is funny... so what? Doesn't mean my rejected stuff (assuming it is rejected) isn't funny... just that they don't want it... fair enough...
I can't reveal what my mates sketch was as it's his sketch and he's keeping quiet about it but it was funny and unusual... certainly an original idea (as far as I can tell)...
We're waiting to see... many a slip twixt cup and lip...
Oh well - fair enough. The odds are against us really. I'll just take my masterpieces elsewhere!
Hi Frankie - so this is where you're hiding - get on with yer shakespeare - interesting though that material accepted well before the deadline don't you think. That kinda says it's pretty much wrapped up long before lots of people have subbed their honed and re-honed work. That's not jealousy btw, it's great that he's got a toe in the door of course. It just makes it harder to work out how/when to pitch. I asked a question before subbing and got the autoreply in response so am now thinking I've blown it just by asking a question which was only vaguely covered in the blurb. Onwards and sideways then.

I have to say that sounds a bit unlikely as it says 'Have you received my sketches?
Yes, if you get this email, it means we have received your sketches. This is a form email which is generated once we have read your email.'
Why wouldn't it just say 'thanks but no thanks'? I still haven't got mine and feel a bit paranoid that they haven't got it. I did send it just before the 9am deadline though.
Yeah we are a bit paranoid aren't we - shuttup everyone!
Well I just got my auto-reply, so according to Frankie I'm out... or am I????
Hello,
We got an automated response a few minutes after sending stuff in last Friday and I didn't really think anything of it - it's more than you get a lot of the time from other places, but I'm starting to wonder about it now.
Must admit I'm not feeling that confident at this stage as it's been a few days now. I don't know when you can expect to hear if they're interested in something.
