Jade also has redeeming features in that she wanted to improve herself and her ignorance (hence the trip to India) whereas I think Carol can't see anything wrong with what's she's done and would do it again.

That said she seems a genuinely nicer person and more intelligent than Carole.
Jade was also highly manipulated by Channel 4 and Shilpa played the game very well.

I don't see why this has any bearing on anything. Being working-class isn't an excuse for being stupid, being upper-class doesn't mean you should necessarily know better. It's just wrong whoever does it.
Also I didn't grow up with these 'golliwog' things but if anyone thinks that comes near to representing a human being they need to get their eyes checked. 
I used to love gollywogs when I was little; collecting the vouchers off the jam jars. Being an idiot I didn't even realise they were supposed to be black people; I thought a gollywog was just a gollywog!

Same actually. But then I was a child and didn't know any better.
I think I had a gollywog doll action figure when I was a kid. Can't remember making an connection then.
