Took me a couple of seconds!
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ January 31 2009, 3:44 PM GMTYou're presuming I don't know the difference between style and fashion. If I'd ever said she was 'fashionable', you'd have a point, but I haven't. Personally I think she's found what suits her - a take on the 1930s (which of course then encompasses the late 60s/early 70s re-invention of that period) and does it well. And by the way, my specialism was in historical dress.
I would get pretty excited about Adam Ant too. He was f**king gorgeous in his day and gave me a life long thing about highwaymen and pirates .
Keep on arguing for as long as you want. I'm bored today but unable to get on with anything important.
You were the one who linked fashion and style, not me. You said you trained and worked in the fashion industry as if that was a surety you knew good style. I don't do a lot of presuming, on the whole. I can tell a leg of mutton sleeve from a raglan one too.
Laverne's style is surely dictated by the fact that she has no waist, tits or arse and a maternity frock or A-line dress covers that up nicely. Ditto the opaque tights on those vermicelli legs.
As for Adam Ant - I was a massive fan and nothing depresses me more than seeing a middle aged man with short hair and a tee shirt standing on stage, noodling (Dave Gilmour) That's not what pop should be about.
To conclude, this thread has been very useful to me as it has revealed why Laverne is on my TV - she's very popular with a middlebrow audience - and a lot of men (astonishingly) want to f**k her (Lee: 'she's sodding gorgeous'. I am genuinely amazed at that, but life's full of surprises.
I'll ignore Chapman's comments as he'd f**k anything.

And you yourself are highbrow? Do you have brows?
I don't think most of the people who've been posting in this thread would be unhappy being described as 'middlebrow'. If they are I'll shortly know about it.
Yer f**ker Godot. I'm lowbrow all the way!
More Hole In The Wall, more Hole In The Wall!
This guy is middlebrow,

I mentioned my previous career as you mentioned the fact that you were qualified to judge someone else's dress sense based on the fact you were the webmaster for a couple of clothing sites. I felt that if we going on experience mine made me more qualified.
Thats mono-brow Lee.

She also recently had a baby - hence the maternity frocks. As I said before she has chosen a style that suits her. Finding something that suits you is also based on your body shape as well as tastes and personality. What do you think she should do, get breast and butt implants? What would you dress her in?
Personally I don't care what other people wear. Some people are interested in clothes, some aren't. If I see someone in the street who I think looks great and has made an effort I will tell them, but it's not that important at the end of the day.

Yes, but it has a middle... never mind...

Go on then I'll let you off.
