Snow - Friend or Foe? Page 7

And if I hear one more person say, "Ooh, it's cold," I'll get really cross. I know it's cold. It's bloody snowing.

Yes, but northerners need things repeated to them so that they learn.

I really can't believe people complaining about public transport (particularly in London). I keep hearing on the news and whatnot that it's not snowed like this in 18 years. So what the f**k do you want, a couple of days IN 18 YEARS where things are a bit f**ked up, or do you want the overpriced fares to go towards things which will only be used for a couple of days IN 18 YEARS?

Grow the f**k up. Get some perspective.

I think it's kind of magical it all grinds to a stop. I've been saying the country needs a national holiday around now, ta-da God provides. :P

I feel genuinely sorry for anyone trying to go in today though.

I know a lot of people on here have been dreaming of a white London, so I hope you are all enjoying it. I hear its actually not that cold out too so it makes for some enjoyable snow days.

Still, at least we have buses that work.

It is disturbing when you have to turn to Aaron as the voice of reason.

Yea I suppose eh? I watched this great documentary on how our bodies adapt to cold weather. They had a white guy stand outside with his arm exposed for 10 minutes (it was somewhere way up north in Canada during the winter). The guy couldn't stand it after the 10 minutes.
The Inuit guy went outside with a t-shirt for over half an hour before the team said "ok we get the point, just come in".
It showed how our bodies need to be acclimatised over days if not weeks to be able to adapt. Sort of the whole thing were we need a sweater in the winter even though it's +10 out, but I'm walking around town in a t-shirt if it's plus anything during the winter months.
Our bodies = interesting.

Agreed. My house didn't have heating for a couple of MOnths over winter, and I didn't notice after a while and was in a t-shirt in the living room and my mates where in coats n scarfs. But they are soft.
