The Moon...

...and the Sledgehammer.

Has anyone else even seen this film - let alone think it's brilliant?

It's a documentary about a family of sort of English hillbillies with a thing about steam engines. It seems to have influenced lots of my writing, but not many people seem to have seen it.

There's a screening in London in February.

Have you ever seen a film or programme that's stuck in your mind, but no one else has seen it and it's never been repeated?

Too ugly for love is a brilliant documentry about three BDD sufferers at different levels of the illness and their roads to recovery. You can get hold of a copy through the BDD foundation but I have yet to see it repeated on television and I think it should as it is just brilliant.

How many people have seen the film documentary 'American Movie'? It's a brilliantly funny look at a deluded writer/director trying to make his own films. I don't think it's available to buy here, and I've only seen it once, but it made a big impression on me!

It is pretty good. His mate Mike is funny.

Funnily enough I was chatting about this film with a mate yesterday. I saw it in the pictures and it is bloody hilarious.

American Movie was a blast. The goofy director used to have a blog that was pretty funny.

There's a great Spanish short film about getting trapped in a phone box. It was shown a couple of times on BBC2 in the 70s and 80s but I don't think it's been on for at least 20 years. The English title was The Telephone Box: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065513/

The other thing I'd love to see repeated is a BBC1 drama from the early 80s called Johnny Jarvis. I'm not sure this has ever been repeated, but it was must-see viewing when I was a teenager. A portrait of Thatcher's Britain: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0255736/

It's one of the most chilling things I've ever scene. Brilliantly done.

I'd like to see the entire series of Doctors repeated in the evening on BBC Two - starting right from the beginning.

I wouldn't watch it but I would like to see it repeated.

Wouldn't BBC One pay higher repeat fees?

Yes, I remember the phone box film too! Had no dialogue and was especially creepy for claustaphobics.

And Johnny Jarvis, I remember that and had the book! I keep think the central character was (Alan Lipton?) was a bit Jarvis Cocker?

It has also reminded me of a show I liked that not many remember called Prospects - it was another Thatcher's Britian type thing. The guy from 2.4 Children was in it.

Ooh, I know it. Wave

If it wasn't a bloody hour long I might actually get around to watching it. :/

Surely repeat fees would be pre-defined in original contracts?

I guess so, but pre-defined at a higher rate for beeb1 than beeb2? I dunno.
