I'm not a TV presenter. And I didn't post saying she was ugly, I posted saying she was a shithead. I then deprecated people who said she was gorgeous. I wasn't aware that I had to fancy her.
It would be more logical for logical for you to test me on my knowledge of Culture, since this is where I was maintaining she was deficient.

That's actually hilarious. She does come across as an airhead (to me) and she doesn't dress well at all. She can be found most days in an A-line dress, opaque tights and spangly clogs - which is about as safe as it gets. (I'm the webmaster for two vintage clothing shops and I have an interest in style and dressing well). She is an uninspired dresser. Her accent doesn't bother me at all - much of my family is from Scotland and I lived in the Midlands for years.
It's easier for you if you don't try to guess why I don't like someone, but actually listen to the reasons I give.

Actually if it's not to gay sounding Godot is a handsome artistic looking type. Kind of like a menacing antihero from an early Ken Loach film, or perhaps a more intelectual Chuck Norris.
I must confess to having never seen the lady you speak of.
Having lost my remote control and having cable TV I am forced to choose my TV viewing more carefully. Which with the bilge on most of the time means I rarely watching anything other than decent dramas, oldish sitcoms and the first 5 minutes of the Simpsons.
Oh and the news. I can alternate between Sky news and BBC news kinda like sitting between a professor and a bad tempered Sun reading drunk at the pub.

Well someone's sense of style is subjective and I feel I have an informed opinion on the subject as I studied at the London College of Fashion and worked aas a fashion journalist and stylist for a number of years 
I still don't see why you find her an airhead. Is it because she makes jokes? Can you give examples of where she has seemed to have no idea what she's talking about? I've listened to her on the radio for years and sometimes watch The Culture Show and can't say she's ever come across as stupid and I am someone who is very harsh on the ignorant.

I like her personally. I was a Kenickie fan in my teens and she is very funny. I wouldn't say she was intellectual but she is quite culturally aware which is a different thing. And no, she is no mega babe but she is attractive and fun .
People like who they like. I'm sure there are Chris Martin fans here for example. Why? Are you blind and deaf? These are questions that would come to my mind but that's my opinion.
Smarter over Chuck Norris? That is like saying Godot has graduated from Teletubbies school and is now on holiday.

You'll be wearing orange now then? Fashion has nothing to do with style. Fashion is a marketing tool to sell new clothes to people whose old clothes are still serviceable and stylish. Style and fashion drink at the same bar but they rarely talk, except to say, "don't you think you've had enough mate?" or where are the toilets".

Kermode was talking about the cinematography of David Watkins in 'The Charge of the Light Brigade' and Laverne was giving her usual 'f**ked on diazepam' performance - couldn't be less interested, when Kermode tried to wake her up by mentioning that the Hussar's jacket in the clip later belonged to Adam Ant. Her eyes lit up like someone had shone a torch in her ear. Really, she visibly achieved consciousness. It was a brief taster of how she can be when she's actually interested in something.

You're presuming I don't know the difference between style and fashion. If I'd ever said she was 'fashionable', you'd have a point, but I haven't. Personally I think she's found what suits her - a take on the 1930s (which of course then encompasses the late 60s/early 70s re-invention of that period) and does it well. And by the way, my specialism was in historical dress.
