What I Learned In 2008 Page 2

I always find it sad to watch the stuff on Comedy Lab get shredded, there might have been years of work getting there, and the poof! gone.

If you do YouTube films and stage shows at least you get to bask the addoration of a loving public. Unless you suck of course.

News Revue is such a visceral pleasure when the audience laughs at your work.

Kipling had something to say on the matter I believe but he is a fascist cake maker and I am on a diet.

I guess I've learned not to spend too much time thinking about it but more time actually doing it :)

I only started scriptwriting in May of 2008 but I learnt several things.

1. Exactly what Griff said, make your script as good as you can make it before sending it off

2. After writing a scene, act or script come back to it either a few hours later or the next day and read and edit it with a fresh perspective.

4. Don't try to write too much in one go as I find that ideas flow easily when separated.

In true Seinfeld tradition, part of me resents having to "learn" things all the time. (Of course that said, if we don't learn from our mistakes we asre doomed to repeat them).

Nah, if you're on a roll keep writing. Even if it is crap it is easier to rewrite than to write.

You said it, Chip.

Sometimes I like to pay homage to Flowers for Algernon.

I just mean that's my experience that's all. If you find yourself struggling to come with ideas then take a break but you're right, if you're on a roll keep going.
