How about writing a sitcom on this forum?

I've been thinking about it for some time now, wasn't sure about it or should I say how it may be received.

A big part is played by bouncing ideas off one another (I see this develop throughout all of the greeting card posts)

And with such talent on here...

How about write a sitcom on this forum

Those that wish to get involved simply knock ideas around for the setting, characters, storyline ect; then once all agreed, start to write it

I can't imagine it has been done before and it may even create interest with production companies simply because of how its been wrote.

What do you think?

Hey random, I've thought about this idea before, and you're right, there is so much talent within this forum that a potential collaboration of like 8-12 writers could bear ripe comedic fruits. It could also turn into a comedic bloodbath as the logistics in forming such an idea would be very difficult. I don't know, there are much brainier and wittier writers on this forum than myself, but I would be up for such a project.

What went wrong with that? I never did find out.

(I actually found the entry I wrote for it a week or two back - it was a funny scene involving a big breasted Asian woman called Bolly Parton)

I am intrigued to see this in operation. How would X number of writers on a forum manage to produce a piece of work that size? My first thought is that you would need to nominate an overall editor who's sole role is to help put the thing together and make executive decisions on editing and so forth. After that I run out of ideas...

We write one scene each and at the end look at the mess we're left with and edit bits together.

I wouldn't take part by the way, but I'm interested in what you would think the final outcome, or purpose of the script might be? Just fun, or for serious use; to send out to Prod. companies?

I like the 'round robin' idea sootyj, maybe used in a smaller way... who ever wishes to get involved go away and write (for example) a scene obviously based on the charcaters/settings which would allready be in place. All post up their scripted scenes for the rest to look over pull apart and reconstruct the best or join parts ect;
