Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Except I can't imagine Bush ordering the closure of Guantanamo Bay.

The government has been trying to close it for the last 3 or 4 years. Two-thirds of the inmates had already been released and all but about 60 to 80 of the remainder were eligible for release but no country would accept them. Obama's move is a step in the right direction, but it may prove to be premature as nobody has determined what to do with the remaining inmates, some of whom are among the world's most dangerous terrorists with a lot of blood on their hands.
Obama is also set to reverse Bush's policy on stem cell research.

And take away our guns and throw away a trillion dollars on a wasteful bailout. A little bit of good, a little bit of bad. Just like every other president.

He hasn't taken away any guns yet. As for the bailout, governments the world over are trying them. Ours certainly is. It's either that or do nothing.

It's true and stimulating the economy like this is better than sitting on your hands.

That where Bush went then?

You follow due process.

I doubt Obama could make a dent in the amount of guns in the land called america.

They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.
Economic stimulus may be needed, but the current plan is fatally flawed. Banks won't even say how they're spending the money and the government doesn't seem keen to oversee the process. I'll believe it's a crisis when people start acting like it's a crisis. If things are so dire, why is only 7% of the money earmarked to be spent in 2009? I think the whole bailout thing will turn out to be the biggest waste of taxpayers' money in history. It's just going to disappear.

I should jolly well hope not. The last thing the government should be doing is denying malcontented teenagers the right to indiscriminately slaughter as many of their classmates as possible.

you say that like it's a bad thing

Of course, we have school massacres in Europe. However the percentage of school massacres is far higher in the united states than anywhere else in the world.

Yeah it's terrible when you can't kill someone with a gun, you'll have to start using knives like us brits.
