Internet comedy Page 2
Oh I have started a thread here about this https://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/thread/11250 I think I must have put it in the wrong place, soz!
I was asking if people knew other sites? I think a site with a content editor seems such a bloody obvious idea I can't believe it's not being done.
I think most things on funny or die aren't great but the stuff the british FOD team make themselves is really good - there are 2 sketches in particular: Finger Gun and Total Paperclips of the Heart (both below)
But why isn't anyone editing the rest of the site contents to actually make sure it's funny? Or is that the DIE element of the voting? If a vid dies is it removed?

Fingergun and Paperclip are both great sketches - Fingergun being written by the ever-popular Dawson Brothers who have just got a Comedy Lab, (they beat me and Bussell to the post, the f**kers ) and starring my clinically-insane but very funny mate Mark Talbot. Funnily enough though both sketches rely heavily on visual humour and - to be fair - both ideas would look shit in script form. Which comes back to the point that - if you have a camera and think you can get away with it, get out there, film it, and bung it up on YouTube. I'll be doing that very thing myself quite soon.
Man, those sketches are waaaaay too long.
The DIE element of the voting can consign a clip to some virual basement, so I guess that's a way of weeding out the really crappy clips.
But there does seem to be a dearth of people actually visiting the site. They need a killer viral, and soon, I reckon. Or the patronage of more big, recognisable UK comedy stars.

Wasn't Fingergun originally going to be put into your Comedy Lab at one point? Or am I remembering things wrong?
I didn't find the sketch that funny, but it had a great punchline and Talbot's acting was pretty damn good!

Shameless name-dropping from Henman there.

Hah - that's not name-dropping Warbs, YOU'RE more famous than him!
Now if you want REAL name-dropping, I could always regale you with the juicy story about a certain party where I saw a certain celebrity sniffing a certain substance up his hooter off the back of a certain toilet cistern whilst getting a blowie off a certain...no, I've said too much.
Tune in next week, gossip fans!

Fingergun was submitted with the pitch for our show because it was deemed to be similar to our idea. But in the end the commissioner was more interested in doing a straight Dawson Bros thing and our idea fell by the wayside. It also didn't help that the commissioner was never 100% sold on the whole paranormal angle. But c'est la vie. It's not my first setback and most definitely won't be my last.
And what doesn't kill you only makes your stronger is a ridiculous saying, but in cases like this quite true, for me anyway. It only gets me pissed off and even more determined to succeed.
Grrrrr!
