Panic.

What is the right email address of NR folks?

I have been sending to mail@newsrevue.com but Griff has a different one up there.

Bugger, f**k, bugger.

What do you recommend? Sending everything through again?

I havent heard a pip from them and must have sent 20ish sketches.

I also asked to be added to mailing lists.

No, I would think they have received your sketches, it is a valid email address. You never hear anything back about your sketches, ever, even if they use them. All you ever get is the running order (and eventually a cheque!). So if you aren't getting the running order, maybe politely email them again to be put on the mailing list. But perhaps use the "canalcafetheatre" email address from now on.

:) Good that makes be feel better. We shall wait and see then!

On the competition idea.

If you guys wanted to run a competition and send us the winner I'd be happy to record the winner and include it in our show.

As long as it's

1 an audio sketch
2 no more than say 3 mins as a guide
3 Has no more than 4 characters.

We are working flat out right now for the glasgow comedy festival and doing a lot of begging for the our Edinburgh fringe shows so I couldn't judge the entries, (anyway what the f**k do I know) we have over 10000 listeners a month now so you'd get heard.

we don't make any money out of our show so we can't pay but obviously the winners will get a credit.

Anyone up for it?

EH?

Hi,

sorry I'm not very good at these forum things. I just realized that I responded to a very old post suggesting a sketch writing competition which is why my comment is out of context.

Anyway my sugestion is still there if anyone is interested.

I haven't sent anything to NR or TS in ages, I have a new and demanding mistress for my feeble talents.

I only sent a couple of bits 'n' pieces here 'n' there, usually for material requests or new runs.

I'm a busy bee at the moment with other projects.

Oh, I see. :)
Can't people just submit stuff to you?? ... then you can decide.

Sounds like a good way to get your name out there.

Hi

Re people submitting stuff to me. (see I don't even know how to do the quote thing) Last time I did that I got deluged with stuff, and because I wanted to be fair to everyone I spent ages reading stuff and ended up having no time to write myself, I guess that would be the problem everybody would face though.

But if someone was happy to take it on and choose the winners, we'd produce them.

ah, ok :)

Anyone seen the running order for this week? It's the new run isn't it?

Not I, has a habit of being late the first week.

Thats a bugger, cos I've got everything crossed here!

2 things

1 They'll never pay you more than you could drink in an evening (already I maybe a borderline alcoholic)

2 The stuff they can be use can be maddeningly random; plenty of runs written mainly by the cast, or runs where professional writers dominate, or you're just unlucky.

Worrying about running order won't make you happy.
