And so it seems the 'Bionic Woman to be companion' stories are probably false, seeing as how shes in the special too. Not sure how I feel about Evans being in it. As long as he isn't there just to do his comedy schtick, but to actually act, then it should be good.
Doctor Who... Page 277
How about the Great Suprendo? And his hilarious exwife Victoria Wood.

How do you think he might get a companion...?

Do you not like Vic Wood Sooty? I liked the sketch show she did in the eighties; As Seen On Tv was it? Anyway, I wonder if her ex still does magic?

From what I understand, there's to be no regular companion for this years specials, different people each time, but I suppose it's possible they might road test a few and pick one that works best.
Quote: Griff @ January 22 2009, 1:10 PM GMTWell, Catherine Tate was just in a special too, and look how that ended up.
With her being one of the all time great companions, acting all the other regulars, bar Tennant, off the screen!

Shit I've reached the point where I can't even do sincerity. She's ace I even liked dinnerladies.

Ah right; it did read like sarcasm!
I can see that now.
That talentless shit basket and surprisingly not gay arse The Great Suprendo and his lovelier and more talented wife Victoria Wood.
Quote: Griff @ January 22 2009, 12:43 PM GMTF**k's sake. He's a good comedian and everything ... but it's Doctor Who. Why don't they just put the Chuckle Brothers in and be done with it.
In 2005 there was a quote from Moffatt which made my blood boil about Dr Who running the gamut from "Quatermass to the Chuckle Brothers."
Er, no! If it does, someone should be sacked.

I imagine he was trying to make the point that the show can have a wide range of tones and stories. I don't think he was actually serious about the Chuckle Brothers bit, he is a comedy writer after all.
Quote: Griff @ January 22 2009, 1:44 PM GMTNigel Kneale was approached to write for Doctor Who on several occasions I believe and turned it down. If only.
I've read Neil Gaimen has been approaced by The Moff; if he does do it that would be amazng.

He probably won't though; they'll just get some bloke who's written a few Casualties and a Torchwood. I seem to recall Stephen Fry wrote an episode, but then for money/time reasons it was bumped; I wonder if that's still there waiting to be shot?
