"I'm peeing with the door open"

:D

That episode inspired me to write my own sitcom episode (well half an episode).

The Simpsons - Homer the Heretic. The one where Homer stops going to church.

I think that episode is so good I'll even leave my Fawlty Towers behind if I only have one episode on the desert island.

"Lisa, this is neither the time nor the place."

I have to agree with Griff, the World of Warcraft South Park is genius. I also agree with the other choices on this thread, so I'll name a few more obscure ones.

Here are some of my favourites, but I can't remember the exact episode names, so you'll have to guess (make it a quiz and play it with your kids, it will be fun - or else)

Peep Show - Mark's bachelor party on the canal boat and pretending the burnt dead dog was barbeque.

South Park - the one where Cartman make's Scott Tennerman eat his own parents in the chili cook off.

Comic Strip Presents - Bad News and More Bad News

Bottom - where they steal Taffy O'Grady O'Jones's honeymoon and Eddie dresses up as the newlywed with the juggs on backwards.

Alan Partridge - hard to choose a favourite - where he insults the farmers and they throw a cow on him / 'Stop getting Bond wrong!' / 'No way you big spastic! You're a mentalist'

Friends - the Brad Pitt episode with the 'We hate Rachel Green Club'

The Young Ones - Party / University Challenge

Larry Sanders Show - the one where Hank goes into a depression and locks himself in a hotel room with hookers. Rip Torn shows up and gives him a gun to blow his head off.

Life of Riley - All of them - and people think I can't tell jokes

And loads, loads more.

Ooh, one more while I remember -

Filthy, Rich and Catflap - The GMTV episode

Friends - the Brad Pitt episode with the 'We hate Rachel Green Club'

Awesome ep! And very self-aware :)

I've not seen that many South Parks. The pilot is awesomely good, as is 'Tom's Rhinoplasty', where Mr Garrison turns into David Hasselhoff.

I think the one that edges it is probably the one with Jimmy and Timmy joined the 'Crips' (I think that's the one where Christopher Reeve eats the dead baby foetuses, isn't it?)

Bottom -- 'Burglar'.

American Dad -- Francine getting arrested in Saudi Arabia (also, you see her in a bikini and I have some sort of weird cartoon crush on her)

Dan

For South Park it has to be the one where Cartman muders some kids parents and then feeds them to him. Good stuff.

Aw, totally. Is that the one where it ends with Cartman climbing over the table to drink the kid's tears? Genius.

I have real trouble picking a favourite Friends or Simpsons cos there's so many of them. My favourite bit of The Simpsons is undoubtedly this Homer bit from when Bart's been caught stealing...

HOMER: STEALING? How could you?! Haven't you learned anything from that guy who gives those sermons at church? Captain Whatshisname? We live in a society of laws. Why do you think I took you to all those Police Academy movies? For fun? Well, I didn't hear anybody laughing, did you? Except for that guy who did all those crazy noises (DOES NOISES FOR A WHILE, THEN REFOCUSES) Where was I? Oh yeah - STAY OUT OF MY BOOZE!

...and in a close second, this exchange...

HOMER: Marge, since I'm not talking to Lisa, could you please ask her to pass me the syrup?
MARGE: Please pass your father the syrup, Lisa.
LISA: Bart, tell dad I'll only pass the syrup if it won't be used on any meat products.
BART: You dunkin your sausages in that syrup, Home boy?
HOMER: Marge, tell Bart I just want to drink a nice glass of syrup like I do every morning.
MARGE: Tell him yourself, you're ignoring Lisa, not Bart.
HOMER: Bart thank your mother for pointing that out.
MARGE: Homer, you're not not talking to me, and secondly, I heard what you said.
HOMER: Lisa, tell your mother to get off my case.
BART: Ah, dad, Lisa's the one you're not talking to,
HOMER: Bart, go to your room!

If I could write that well I'd be set.

Yes Minister - A Skeleton In The Closet

I love the dynamics of this show, but I also love it when Jim Hacker managers to get one over Sir Humphrey. And in this episode he really makes the senior civil servant squirm.

Garth Merenghi's Darkplace - Scotch Mist

Yup.

Father Ted: A Song for Europe.

The Comic Strip: Mr Jolly Lives Next Door

Can't believe I didn't include ASFE!

Mr Jolly... is also genius.

The Simpsons - Lemon of Troy.

Friends - The One Where Rachel Finds Out.

It was interesting that we always wanted Ross and Rachel to get together, yet when they did it never seemed quite as funny. That said, I love the episode where Rachel finds out Ross loves her, not least because it features the mighty Elliot Gould.

Early Doors - The final episode of the second series.

Yes, it's manipulative, but it's a great cathartic and warm ending to a great show.

Red Dwarf: Queeg.

Oooh! Good call. I remember nearly splitting my sides laughing at that one, especially at the end when it turned out CONTAINS SPOILERS! to be Holly all along.

"We are talking April, May, June, July and August fool..."

That was even better than Holly's 'Norweb Federation' joke.

Arrested Development - Ready, Aim, Marry Me!

Mainly due to Martin Short's fantastic performance as Uncle Jack. Sidesplitting.
