I liked Pertwee, too, Griff. How about this - I saw episode 1 of the Time Warrior when it was broadcast and vividly remember Lynx the Sontaran taking his helmet off at the end! A real shit your pants moment when you're six or seven. It's still disturbing now, because the mask is so good - much better than the recent ones.
Doctor Who... Page 276

This is a great idea. Not necessarily Allen and Brook, but they could cast two actresses in the same role and interchange between them, like Bunuel did in his last film.

Wow! That's the first regular episode of Dr Who that I ever watched, and yes I was scared when the helmet came off at the end. Before that I had seen a couple of the edited-together omnibus editions, The Green Death and The Sea Devils. Also, I think, Day of the Daleks. Great stuff.
I can not wait until this summer and the money begins flowing. I'm going to start my Dr. Who DVD collection right away. It will be glorious. I've seen so much Who but almost all of it out of order.
It only ever played on TVO (TV Ontario) Ontario's publicly funded broadcaster.
I loved the original doctor. He was so surely it was awesome.
Go on, Curt, you're a man of good taste. I'm working my way through all the episodes at the moment, watching them on VHS or DVD, and listening to them on the BBC audios where the episodes were wiped. I'm half way through the Troughtons - just about to start on The Web of Fear.
The Hartnell era was totally unique, so many enjoyable historical stories. On the commentary track on The Web Planet DVD actor Martin Jarvis recounts how he was having a laugh one day on set, when William Hartnell arrived, snapping at him with "take it seriously, boy." Classic.
kick ass I'm excited to watch old school Who now.

Wasn't that the problem during the Sylvester McCoy - too much stunt casting. Although Lee Evans has done serious acting a few times. And starred in Harold Pinter's Dumb Waiter.
Oh that would be fantastic if they played two diferent regenerations of the same Time Lord.
I'm turning from me to you.
Evans has done some really good serious stuff. Freeze Frame and Funny Bones spring to mind.
Funny Bones is a good film if a tad overlong.
Funny bones is ace, dark majestic and scary.
Funny at times as well.
You should see Funny Bones, it's well unique in a good way.
Like David Lynch, David Cronenberg and Norman Wisdom took mescaline and made a film in Blackpool.
Quote: Griff @ January 22 2009, 12:43 PM GMTWhy don't they just put the Chuckle Brothers in and be done with it.
That would be good.
