Doctor Who... Page 273

Let's not have another character who could have been lifted straight out of EastEnders. The companions shouldn't all be ersatz cockneys, let's have a bit of variety.

Yes if it's her it'll just be the same old Rose/Martha stuff. Boooring.

God, I'm almost past caring about the next series. Bleh.

4. Doctor in love, assistant not in love - NOT DONE YET?

Oh god, you're right.
Oh, that's so obviously what they're going to do.

Oh dear. Rolling eyes

Well Michelle Ryan wasn't a Cockney in Merlin or the Bionic Woman so there's no reason she would be in Doctor Who.

Yes there is: all the assistants in Dr Who since 2005 have been straight out of Eastenders. Even the counterfeit Dr in the Christmas special had a cockney assistant!

True, with Tom Baker...

Griff - yes, I'd like the Tardis to go to other planets and not keep coming back to London to visit the assistant's mum. That's been done to death.

I haven't seen her in EastEnders or Bionic Woman, but if she's a professional actress, why not hire her.

No ones actually said it is Ryan yet. I'm just saying. They said it was Lilly Allen last week. And Kelly Brook.

I am totally past caring.

I think there's two reasons for that, firstly money. It's cheaper. Though they could pretend it was Manchester, or wherever. Secondly, the family aspect helps attract a wider audience, I think.

Bionic Woman was quite fun. But she really is quite wooden.

If they want a young woman, why can't they bring Sally Sparrow back? She was good.

I am totally past caring.

You two fickle people boggle my mind.

Now they've brought attraction into it there's only one combination left I think?

Or mutual hatred but a grudging acceptance that they work well as a team and need each other in order to survive?

But she really is quite wooden.

More so than Martha?! :D
