What the hell's a man doing with a bag?

Carrier bags with stuff from shops in. A bag for your laptop. A manbag.

Yeah, I saw that one whilst searching. I bet the guy he was fighting was thankful he didn't get a headlock on him using his legs. Shit moustache? Sick

Sounds like the beginning of the Spiderman movie. What if he had killed your Uncle Ben after!!

I'm not sure if I'd do anything, I'd weigh it up first. You may just be able to trip them up or something, without fighting.

I think I have issues...Spiderman was the first thing I thought of too.
So Chipolata remember uncle Ben...remember Teary

You don't do it for thanks though. You do it because is right thing to do surely?

I agree. My first instinct would be to do something, but of course these days that isn't perhaps the wisest thing to do. Stolen items can be replaced, but your life cannot.

:D Geek

And in my defence I have no idea if it was a bag snatch since I never saw the actual incident. For all I know the chav I saw had just been accosted by the swearing man and was running for his life.

True.

Also, don't forget that if you do stop the chav and the police arrive he'll say you beat him up etc., and you'll get arrested too, and have the police take your fingerprints and DNA.

Poor Old Uncle Ben.

RIP Uncle Ben.

But Peter Parker had great power! Clearly Chip has yet to be bitten by anything radioactive. Or has he?!!

I don't think I would have intervened for a bag. Someone being attacked/hurt is a different question ....and I have no idea what I'd do. Plus even if you were successful you probably would have got six months for GBH and he'd have sued you for emotional stress.

Very rank.

Last night I was walking past the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton when I noticed a guy swearing his head off down the street, and running towards me a chav clutching a bag. Clearly he'd just snatched it off the guy and was doing a runner. I thought about attempting to stop the guy but didn't, just let him run past. Was this the right thing to do, or cowardly inaction?

And more broadly speaking, should we intervene if we see trouble?

If it's only one guy and he's running, he's probably not looking at you. Clothesline him then leg it - hopefully you'll get a 'mystery hero stops mugger' headline in the local rag.

It's probably a sad reflection of my jaded humanity but if I saw an animal being mistreated I'd intervene, whereas if I saw a person being mistreated, I'd think twice about helping.

Ironically, it's the second time I've witnessed a bag snatch in Wolverhampton. It must be the bag snatch capital of Britain.
