My first thought was a biological weapon gone wrong, but I'd like to think it's just because they live like animals in dank caves and mud hovels. With a little bit of divine retribution thrown in for good measure, of course.
Perhaps the US airforce could drop them some calomine lotion and antibiotics attached to cluster bombs?

I'm not normally a supporter of the death penalty, but some people are just begging for it.

Yes, I enjoy seeing justice in action. I would feel differently about them if they'd raped and disfigured Osama bin Laden, for example.
