Country Music Page 5

Steve Earle and Jayhawks have produced some of my favourite music ever. People often dismiss country (rawk). Then they hear some..........thing like Hollywood Town Hall (Jayhawks) and submit to sense.

The Jayhawks are awesome, and yes they started me on the road to country...

Have you heard Rainy Day Music ? Their album from the early 2000s. Sublime!

Yes, if anything they got even better after Mark Olson left. Smile is probably my favourite album, but it is hard to choose.

If we're going down the folky, bluesy route too, I'm going to throw Juliet Turner in there too. I really like her.

Juliet Turner is an artist I have been intending to investigate. I loved her single Dr. Fell. Is there anything in particular you would suggest checking out?

The album Dr. Fell is from is Burn the Black Suit and it is beautiful. Personal favourites on there are the title track, plus Call Me Green, Take The Money And Run and I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You.

Enjoy!

Cheers. I'll check it out.

I like a bit of folk music. I'm a big fan of Irish singer Christy Moore, anyone else heard/like him.

The only one of his I can remember is Ride On. I prefer Van Morrison to Christy Moore, personally.
