Really sad about this. He seemed such a nice man; such a talent too.
RIP
Oh no!
Worst news yet! R.I.P Tony, what a lovely guy he was nad an inspiration to countless young artists.
As has been mentioned before, yet another childhood icon has gone.
This is very sad news indeed.
RIP Tony
Sad to see a great man die... for those of you who are London based etc some folk on face book are trying to organise a flash mob in his memory... http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=17152959173&topic=5876
So sad. He sparked my love of art, along with Morph.
Tony Hart was great. I am extremely sad to hear that's he's passed away. He just looked so kind and he was the reason I got into drawing and painting.
I agree with everyone here. He was on TV even when I was young. I met him at my kids school open day a few years back. A genuinely nice man but remarkably tiny.

Are you sure we need to know that?

Thought I'd removed that badly-phrased line. To clarify: I gave her a plasticine kit and some episodes of Morph as a present, we were reminiscing about Tony Hart, who she'd thought had died already. So that sprang to mind when I heard the news today.
It's the Duchess of Kent I feel sorry for. She used to make a few grand a year from PAs as a Hart lookalike.
He was great. I loved Tony Hart.
Aww damn I thought this was going to be a sketch. Thats really sad, he had a nice, calming voice and a steady hand. Where's Morph going to live now?...Oh and what was the name of the white Morph?
The best tribute I've read so far was on Stephen Fry's twitter: "Not dead, but morphed."
