What a bastard eh? I just found an email in my spam box from the producer saying they wanted to use some of material with a small rewrite. Just emailed him and guess what - it's too late now, last show's tonight.

Very f**king Hell.

Oh well. Note to self: Turn off shitty spam filter.

That is gutting. I had writers' briefs sent to a defunct email addy for a while and missed a few opportunities.

I haven't heard anything about my re-writes either.

I believe you, Dolly. Whistling nnocently

I'm also going tonight and meeting in Starbucks beforehand. Have a sketch "almost certainly" being recorded tonight. Also hoping that a sketch that was cut from the recording last week will make an appearance but that's probably wishful thinking...

I just caught the first episode on iPlayer.

Did anyone get anything in that episode or was it commissioned writers only?

Looking at the list of writers (from www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/comedy/recordedfortraining), it seems that most of the first two shows are by the commissioned team (or by people who've been on the team previously).

The names that aren't commissioned are (and bear in mind I might have a couple of these in the wrong group):
4 Google Michael Balazo
6 Answerphone #1 Daniel Harlos
10 Answerphone #2 Daniel Harlos
14 Answerphone #3 Daniel Harlos
15 Actor TV Michael Rees

1 Sudoku Andy Flood
2 Fatuous Survey Eddie Robson
3 My First Call Centre Christopher Stanners
9 5 Second Theatre Damian Nicolaou
11 Parents IT Hotline Matt Hurst
13 Childrens Support Hotline Sam Kellow
15 Next of Kin Sean Grant
16 Fake Signing Stuart Beale
19 Dirty Phone Sex Thomas Gladstone

In contrast, those that are:
1 Soap Forecast Beki Hobbs
2 Automated phone system Christina Martin & James MacDougall
3 Dave/Adrian Kate Chedgey
5 John Barrowmen #1 John Dorney
7 Facebook Friends John-Luke Roberts
8 Noise Pollution John-Luke Roberts
9 Despondent Correspondent #1 Matt Honeyball
11 Crime-solving Architects #1 James Sherwood
12 Annoying Phone Mike Ryan
13 Crime-solving Architects #2 James Sherwood
16 BackStory Factor Kate Chedgey
17 John Barrowmen #2 John Dorney

4 iPlayer #1 Matthew Morton
5 James Pink #1 Madeleine Brettingham
6 Phone-In: Budget Stephen Carlin
7 iPlayer #2 Matthew Morton
8 Holby Career Matthew Morton
12 iPlayer #3 Matthew Morton
14 Nasty Names Matthew Morton
17 James Pink #2 Madeleine Brettingham
18 iPlayer #4 Matthew Morton

I think it's somewhat likely that the third and fourth programme will have a significantly higher margin of non-comm in there, as I think that recording had a higher proportion.

Surprised there's any ink left in your pen Griff! Nice work. As a fellow audience member tonight (with nothing performed) I can confirm that both shows were really good. Well done to all BSGers involved.

Can I hear this stuff anywhere (without too much hassle)?

Episode One is currently on Listen Again on BBC iPlayer.

Episodes Two through Six will follow over the next five Thursdays at 11pm .

:)

Bollocks! None of my sketches got on.

1. Messengers on horseback deliver banal messages.

Sounds similar to one I wrote and saw recorded at the first show - wonder if this was a rerecording, runner by someone else or just, um, a similar sketch...?

Didn't make the cut. Bollocks.

Me neither. Radio 4 will just have to wait for me...

:)

Dan

Looks like mine didn't make it either.

Roll on Tilt.

I've never submitted sketches to Tilt before - is it the same deal as RFTP? What point in the year does Tilt come about?

You can submit on a weekly basis as many sketches as you like, as it's (more or less) topical. That said, it's not explicitly topical, so it's nothing like News Revue or Treason; a bit more subtle topicality and more cultural reference stuff. Is that fair, somebody?
