Yes, yes you will.

Quote: ajp29 @ July 10, 2007, 6:15 PMYeah but child like ignorance is only ok if you are a child.
Aha, but because it's not ok, what is it? It's clearly not evil, because, well, it's just through lack of knowledge, or misunderstanding, or whatever. If we go back to Brent as an example of this, I don't think anyone would suggest - despite what Gervais's personal agenda may or may not be - that the character is maliciously racist. He doesn't preach the extermination of blacks or the sterilisation of Jews or any such idiocy. He just has a habit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
We're all ignorant in different ways (see below ); it'd be great if we weren't, but no one is perfect.
Quote: ajp29 @ July 10, 2007, 6:15 PMYes I understand that it may be difficult for old fashioned people to adjust to modern ways but i'm a facist when it comes to people being treated equally which is why I don't vote Tory.
That's politicist. A statement made through ignorance (nevermind being an oxymoron)!
Quote: Aliospalio @ July 11, 2007, 12:29 AMIt gives me hope that an ugly git like him can make it.
And there's a great point!

Alright already, we get the point! >_<
Ugly!
Have you seen the pics of him in the 80s? He was very pretty.
Welcome GedC. They're not all as personally negative as this thread.
Someone's just bitter and twisted!
I LOVE HIM I DO!
Charley, just for you, I'm going to write a new feature which will allow members to be banned from posting in individual threads.
I like Ricky Gervais and I`m strangely drawn to Stephen Merchant, but I can`t quite put my finger on it.
I`ve seen photos of RG as a New Romantic and Zooo`s right, he was a bit pretty in the `80s.

Not drinking then?

I still love him though.
Here's a better link to the Jim Shelly article that Mark mentioned:

I think it's right on the money.
Do I get the feeling Godot that you're not too keen on Mr Gervais?
It shows true character when someone goes on to a british sitcom website and starts a post calling the most successful current british comedian a C-word, especially over the points made. And I saw all the Gervais appearances too.
Also criticising him for being fat shows that you've got prejudice issues anyway.
I think the title of this thread should have been moderated. There is no * in c**t!

I've just realised that none of this is worth worrying about... that is, until the day comes when we're not allowed to turn our TVs off.
