Comedy Shuffle Online

Time to get creative? http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedyshuffle/about/about_web.shtml

Are they doing something new with this? The site itself has been online a while now.

Dunno- I assumed it was new because my agent's just sent me the link

Nah, it's been going for at least a year that I know of. Tell your agent to wake up and smell the Bussell.

Not sure about this but the BBC is launching a new online comedy 'thing' soon....apparently. Or at least that was the plan a couple of months ago.

Yeah, I heard that from a producer I was working with. That was pre-crunch though.

All of those type of sites seem, in the end, rubbish to me. Thought you'd all like to know. Evidently they don't attract any traffic either as they always close down.

This project is different in that it's not user generated content. There's a producer in charge whose remit is to commission bespoke web content for the BBC.

Well that would be better, no one wants to watch rubbish cobbled together on some talent free idiots camcorder. I still wonder how many people actually regularly visit those sort of sites though. I used to like some stuff on Super Deluxe, but that seems to have gone now.

Well shit on my biscuit - so it has! And I was halfway through Kristen Schaal's series about the woman who is told to assasinate the president by her pet parakeet!

Comedy Soup did me loads of good - my stuff was picked up by the Beeb and I ended up as a finalist on the Funny Hunt talent search, which opened a few doors. So they can be very helpful.

Also, I made a handy grand out of Comedy Box. So stick that up your windbag, Stott.

Still mainly full of crap, then they close down after a year.

Also closed down. Or gone on Myspace, so as good as. And was devoid, in the main, of anything good. The sites in the main just don't seem to be able to keep going.

Rubbish for their audience maybe, but handy for the writer if their timing is right.

The fact it's helped you out just shows how evil they are.
