Recorded For Training Purposes (Series 3) Page 36

I couldn't see any of my sketches there. Still, four more shows to go.

Surely that's one more show?

Aah now I understand.

Nope - only two more shows to go - that was the second of three recordings.

Oh. Does anyone know what sketches where recorded in those shows?

Cheers Griff. Sounds amusing from the list! Looking forward to the shows now.

Dan

Think that was everything they performed.

By the way, writing credits aren't being given at the end of the show, you have to look up writing credits on the Radio 4 website (so it seems).

And as Scarlett O'hara says

"Tomorrow is another day.."

Ian - I don't think anyone has listed the sketches from the first recording, but I think you would have been told by now if yours had been. Yakob (and Badge I think?) both had a sketch in the first recording, and were both subsequently informed by Ed.

Well I was just told to rewrite some of my sketches for the show, so maybe they will appear in the next recording.

I listed the sketches from the first half of the first recording a few pages back but I completely forgot to list the ones after the interval!

And the "Inside Documentaries" runner was mine. It got rewritten by one of the script editors and was a lot more low key than my original (which I think I posted in critique somewhere).

Sorry I didn't see you guys there. I was quite late-ish and ended up in the little waiting room and sat up in the balcony. I had hoped to see you on the way out.

Next week, we should either arrange to meet at the interval or hang about just outside when they kick out.

Yes, Ed let me know. Mine is first up in the second episode (I'm guessing it will be the pre-theme music slot). Bit of a blow that the credits are only on the website though!

Great to see the BSGers last night and hope to see you (and others?) at next week's recording as well. Last night's was the first I've been to and I thought the quality was really good, so well done to all.

I think, in regards to radio sketch shows, RfTP actually has one of the highest hit counts. I wonder whether the title puts the 'general public' off giving it a go though?... the word 'training' might give the impression of it being amateur?, which it is actually anything but.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing some members material over the coming weeks!

Incidently, our guide to the show is now online. Thanks to Ian and Dan for their help with the research. https://www.comedy.co.uk/radio/recorded_for_training_purposes/

Are the credits up on the website already and if so which website? I've checked the bbc site and it's not changed.

Nice synopsis. I think co-creating Brian Mason the quiz show character with Kate was my number one achievement from being involved with the whole sketch factor thing (I was all downhill from there) - and I loved listening to Coleman camping it up. Brian could have come back for s2, but in true style I wrote a real dog of a sketch and screwed up any comeback. Gah!

Have people started to hear back if their sketch has made the final broadcast then? Mine was recorded on monday, which I missed. If it's made it into the final programme I really wouldn't want to miss that too.

You wrote the Brian Mason? Nice one! I'd assumed it was one of the in-house talent. Good effort, I'm impressed.

I was disappointed that they didn't use my sketch killing off Nameless Phil at the end of series 2 even though they'd already decided he wouldn't be coming back for series 3. They just left him out of the last episode instead.
