In what way? Do try to remember I know absolutely nothing about biology, which is why I ran.
Lactate is to produce milk, hence the booby reference I guess. Lactic acid is produced by the muscles during anaerobic respiration and is what causes cramp. 's a little weird.

Lactation is production of milk. Lactate may be either the milk produced, or an ion/salt which is actually produced in anaerobic respiration, of which lactic acid is the acidic form. Lactic acid can't actually be produced in human tissues, apparently. It's all lactate of the latter kind.
