Better be careful there Nil Putters.........
Ooooh nice Indian Smiley.
*gets tomahawk ready for another scalping*
Don't tempt me (A line Sly Stallone mutters in Rambo 5: Carehome Casualties, as he's offered a Werther's Original btw).
So why is Dr Mato eating a goat's supper in the snow? And what do goats eat? Everything? Sounds daft to me. Now eating a goat for supper that's fine. I probably collected about eight native indian curses there so I may not be around tomorrow.
Tomorrow or later on today?
I never am sure how the time scale on curses work.
Quote: Dr Mato @ January 1 2009, 3:19 PM GMTSo you know AAron.
It has gone well. My friends were well behaved and my dad liked them.
*probably because my postal lady friend prepared allThe white elephant game was funny. I got a ceramic picture with George W Bush on it. Too funny!(the idea of game is wrap up something you do not want)
The items wrapped were hysterical. Horrid ties, cheap wine and silly kitchen gadgets. Every item was funny in own way.
Lots of food and fun was had by all and I even saw my dad laugh a lot.
He will stay one week and wants to work some on my house. Today my brother and dad are putting in a dog door for Buster Keaton who they both like very much.
Tonight he will have "ghost supper in the snow" Since I was not at the annual ghost supper. Almost all of the people from my party last night are coming to my dads ghost supper.
* note to members of talk forum.... if not interested in this I understand but AAron showed some interest ........so there
Thanks for the info Mato, I only recently learned about your ancestory via Aaron actually!
I studied the native Americans (and early America) at school and I found it very interesting and frustrating at the same time.
What tribe did you (do you?) belong to?
PS - if you want to PM you can I will no doubt badger you with more questions and piss people off in the thread
Oh, no! If it's not annoying anyone else then could you please post here? It's really interesting! Either that, or copy the PM to both Paul and I, if you don't mind.
Ghost supper in the snow?
What's one of those?
White elephant sounded ace, now if you could just borrow a largish shotgun for the plate.
Or perhaps feed Buster Keeton off of it...

Dr Mato is of the First Nation. She is Canadian and of the land called america because of birth rights. However, she is first Lakota~ Canadian.
Native Americans is a term that is used for AMERICAN born and raised Indians. That not being me because I am a racists against most americans and not of the land called america.
Th Ghost supper went well, over 100 locals came. We were only expecting 15.
My dad was very pleased and met many new people. They all joined in ceremony and also my dad had my brother interpret his words so they could also join in. First time I ever saw my dad allow that.
Aw yay. Could he be softening a little in his old age?
It's all getting terribly confusing now, what with the distinction between being American as in a citizen of the US, and an American as in the continent!

I thought many of the Canadian Native American tribes actually survived much of the destruction caused by the Americans?
And isn't Lakota tribe located rather far north of America not actually in Canada? (wow I remember more than I thought!)

It is confusing. Most Indigenous Canadians are not happy with american government more so these days. So to link there is taboo.
My father was born in the states being a south dakota, Lakota with his mother being a Lakota Canadian. He went to Canada as a child when the american government became more abusive to the south dakota indigenous family and tribe.
He stayed in Canada and later married my mother who was Lakota Canadian. He has dual citizenship as do I. My brother refused dual citizenship papers because he will not have american on a paper.
My grandparents, my father, mother and most of my relatives never speak or spoke english. My sister never spoke english either My brother learned some and now I am the best.
