Just heard, hopefully I've made it into one of the recordings... will have to brief people as to what it was so they can let me know.

Thought you said they recorded 1 of yours already (or am I mad?).

I'm making a list of sketches performed on the 5th so should be able to let you know.

Ditto, Paul Carroll.

Well done folks. I've been asked for a re-write. If I ever get my motivation back I might get round to it.

I will be along. Not sure if I've got anything in (had a reasonable chunk in show 1), but it's always fun.

The show proper starts broadcasting in a week, remember.

I've got my email back. I've been asked to expand two of my short "Quickie" sketches.

Just heard other JunkMales might be in with a shot too.... excellent.

I got the second placeholder email - details to follow today.

Also, my head hurts.

Got email. Apparently they recorded one of mine last week (the fake signing-dancing one for anyone at the recording) and it might make the 2nd episode.

Yay! I'm happy! (Until someone who saw the recording pms me saying the sketch died a death, but until then, I'm happy!)

Meant to add - I remember that one. Thought it went down well. Good sketch.

What would you rather I do, Danny, invite him along in the full knowledge that he won't be able to get in?

It was meant to be a humorous aside, or possibly a humorless aside.

Just the thought of such a list made me smile, but I suspect, as normal, just me alone.

:S

If you've got something in the show, might be worth emailing the producers to see if you can get on the guest list.

I got some feedback on my sketch, and the slight change it probably needs but he didn't specifically say rewrite it & send it over again.
Should I make the suggested change & resend ? Or would he have made it clear if I needed to resend it ?

I'd probably have made it clear, Fred. If you have - or anyone has - any queries, then email rftp@bbc.co.uk.

In more general terms - everyone who's going to hear from us has now heard from us; I'm afraid if we haven't replied yet, then your sketch wasn't shortlisted for inclusion. Every sketch submitted got read by two different members of staff at BBC Radio Comedy, so I hope everything got a fair chance to make its way in. I'm afraid due to the volume of submissions, we can't offer any feedback to anyone who's not yet received any.

There were about 1500 sketches submitted in total (or, more accurately, 1500 files - lots had three sketches in one file, so maybe 1800 sketches is nearer the mark). Of these, we've shortlisted the work of about 180 writers. Not all of these will get something on, of course. I've commissioned 35 minutes per 28' show up front from 15 commissioned writers, so if everything submitted had been rubbish, I would have still been OK. But the first recording last month had 17 sketches by non-com writers out of 60. I suspect that percentage will increase for the next two recordings.

Any further questions, post them here or email them to rftp@bbc.co.uk.

Cheers,
Ed.

Hi Ed, welcome to the forums. Pleased

Wow, 15 commissioned writers. Never knew they commissioned so many.

I got feedback too. One of my sketches is good but too similar to some of the sketches last series (though I did do that deliberately!) and another is liked but needs a rewrite, which I am off to do right now.

Thanks, Ed.

Dan
