Quote: sootyj @ December 30 2008, 6:15 PM GMTSeriously I haven't been on a holiday in 6 years and that was a working holiday.
I do worry myself at times....
You could always go to Israel for a bit! They're having fireworks!

Holidays are overrated.
True. Spending a week at home instead of going abroad is waaaaaay more relaxing.
I'm going to enjoy champagne in the warmth of my domicile

On the times I've gone out without make up, I don't feel quite right. If I wear a big pair of shades that hides half my face. Then slap on some lip gloss. In a rush, that gets me by- but it ain't pretty!

Pah! You've been conditioned by mass-media as well.

You've made my evening seem shabby...But I can imbibe a bit(a a bit more) and watch the ball drop, and I don't have to worry about how I'll get home
or where I can find a restroom

Everybody's conditioned. Why comb your hair, or apply deodorant, or have a wash? Those things aren't needed for survival. If nobody cared how they looked (or smelled), we'd all just sleep in our clothes, or roll out of bed in our pajamas, and head off to work like that. Anyway, I'm using the make up in place of sunscreen, so it's, you know, medicinal....
Well me caring how I look is a bit futile. But I wash and change clothing for my own benefit, not others! Dirt. *shudder* I like clean.

I like clean, too. My baths are one of my favorite parts of my day. Very relaxing. But I'm conditioned to like clean. I think. It's hard to know how you'd be if you weren't raised how you were raised. Think of how people used to bathe. In the old days if you bathed once a week you were a neat freak. So what changed-conditioning? Conditioning plus access?
No, just our understanding of the world we live in. Microbes, germs, icky things!
Ewww.
Our forefathers would have enjoyed a daily hot shower, but they weren't practical at the time. I'm sure I'd bathe less frequently if I had to pump my bathwater by hand from a well and then boil it over a fire.
I dunno, I do like to be clean.

I hate the feel of sweat. That invisible antiperspirant is the greatest. I remember being on the tube (crowded) in the dead of summer. It was inhumanely hot and humid. It was like being shrunk to the size of a doll and then trapped in a fat man's armpit.

And probably strain it too...
The temperatures on the Tube are unbearable at any time of the year. There's no difference in summer.
And yet, for some reason, I still love it.
It counts as animal cruelty to take a dog or cow on the tube in summmer.
