What did you write that paid for a house?

I told before on here. I am contracted to write a book at this time. I lucked into this because a publisher met me and liked me. He thought my life was worth humour and merit in book.
I am no scholar but he said I was a book and that is it.
I am very lucky and know that muchly.
Oh they gave me monies upfront. I have a legal one who arranged that for me.
And I earn monies here and there for such genius gags as,
New supermarket for the incontinent.
Pidl.

I got into the sitcom trials for the first time this year. It was my first attempt, so I'm well chuffed. I also wrote a decent sitcom with a writing partner over the Internet, which was a good experience. Apart from a few emails from producers saying I'm good, but not good enough, that's it, but I hope to build on that for next year.
I look forward to reading your book Dr Mato I suspect it'll be most entertaining.
Any chance you can arrnage signed copies for some of us lot?

Well as I always say it's a marathon not a sprint.

I will ask my helper woman (editor) about that. I have much more to go before done.

Ah I knew you'd been commissioned to write a book, but had no idea it was for enough to buy a house.
Very lucky!
Oh if you've got something to say that people will pay to hear that's when the extra noughts on the cheques start appearing.
I very nearly took the year off writing to concentrate on playing (sort of semi-pro stuff) so was quite happy with a few sketches in NR and TS. Nobody has asked me to write a book about my life as it would contain more incontinence lines than a Sooty sketch . And had writers block for the first time ever to boot. (Thanks for the help Soots by the way). Did write an advert for the band I played in. That any good?
No excuses for 2009 though. No playing at all next year and currently hard at work on a short play. Not a gag in site. Very scary serious stuff.

What does extra noughts on cheques mean?
