Oh I don't know either. I assumed this was going to be his last before Moffat took over.

As I understand it, RTD has written ALL FOUR of the 2009 specials. Moffat will take over in the next series.
Fat hippies eating ice cream and whining?
Planet of the Grateful Dead.
I'm confused. So RTD hasn't left yet? I thought he had and the next season was going to be Moffat's?
I would die of happiness if it was zombies!

Yes. But next year is four specials. Not a series.
The next proper series is all Moffat, after the four specials.

Awwww noo! I thought there was going to be a new series starting soon, gutted now. Four specials? That's rubbish that means they'll be months apart
Quote: Griff @ December 26 2008, 12:17 AM GMTAnyway apparently the first 2009 special is co-written between RTD and Gareth Roberts. Gareth Roberts wrote that Agatha Christie one. That is all I have to say about him.

Yep. Just 4 hours of Who in 2009. (Or three, if previous posts are accurate.)
The next series is in 2010.

Yep, depressing innit.
Won't be any momentum or anything. And any story arc will get a bit lost.
Bit shit really.
Quote: Griff @ December 26 2008, 12:17 AM GMTThe Grateful Dead were superb, I'll have you know.

I like the Grateful Dead almost as much as I like the opportunity for a cheap gag.
A planet full of passable impersonation based comedy?
Planet of the dead ringers.
Big bums!
And there isn't going to be any Merlin either, what shitness! I didn't mind Merlin finishing cos I thought Dr Who was replacing it! *cries*
No Merlin? Why not?
At least there'll be more Hole In The Wall!

Shame they didn't have that show when then last Pope got shot.
Hole in the John Paul.
Hole in the Wall with anorexic celebrities and a really small hole?
That'd be a scream.
Quote: Aaron @ December 26 2008, 12:40 AM GMTNo Merlin? Why not?
Did it get a second series? That's good news. But it'll still be a while before it airs
At least there'll be more Hole In The Wall!
Haha, that is such an aweful programme!
The one good thing it has going for it though is it shows how f**king desperate the people are who go on it.
