Thirty seconds and I'm bored already. I like watching world leaders dodging shoes.

I bet you still laugh at "Bush is stupid" jokes as well.

I had the unlucky situation of meeting Palin. She is Ted Nuggent in drag. Another lost cause to genetics.

:D

The Shoe incident works on a number of levels, though. It's funny seeing any grown man, let alone leader of the free world, dodging a shoe. But it's also funny because it acts as a perfect coda to George Bush's presidency.

Also, there's been something grimly funny about the way Robert Mugabe has clung to power in Zimbabwe.

Like when Prescott got egged (which was also ace).

He was a national hero after punching that Mullet Man.

I can watch Bush dodging shoes over and over. I can only dream of being the one to throw them, only my aim is better!!! :D

Tell me you wouldn't laugh if it was Gordon Brown dodging shoes.

I wouldn't laugh if it was Gordon Brown dodging shoes.

Maybe you only find it funny if people whose politics you don't agree with get footwear bunged at them.

What on Earth makes you think I agree with Bush's politics? :S

A refreshing comuppence, but that wasn't funny either.

Plus of course his lifelong love affair with pies.

I wondered what you meant there. Had begun to wonder if there was a major scandal my mind had blocked out for its own good.

Plus of course his lifelong love affair with pies.

Low blow. According to this year's autobiography he's bulemic.

Oh, now THAT was funny. A proper contender for the top spot.

Well there's this for starters: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7795558.stm

Just out of curiosity, what aspect of that story do you find funny?

Was Max Mosely this year? That was funny.

None of it.

On the subject of class, the documentary he did with his wife on class was very funny. I know he'll probably eke out a living on the celebrity circuit now (I can envisage him on next years Strictly Come Dancing) but I think public life will be pooer without him.

Agreed.

Love hate relationship?

And the Daily Mail taking a pasting and having to apologise was just beautiful.

Palin being interviewed in front of the turkey killing machine while she was there as gov to pardon one. Her Katie Couric interview was class too. 'What do you read?' Terrified pause. 'Oh all of it.'

If Sara Palin was followed around with a dictaphone it could put all us satire writers out of business.

Her and a parrot could put Merton and Hislop on the dole queue.
