Another one bites the dust

Seems Channel4's 4Talent has gone too. It was always a good resource for finding out about new talent initiatives. They say they will be launching a new resource in 2009.

What the comedy writing God giveth (incredible new open-door opps at the Beeb), the comedy writing God taketh away....

So it goes.

I think Comedy Lab was under that umbrella too so that's a big blow.

Really?? Do you reckon that's gone too then? Angry

Comedy Lab is still going ahead.

Yeah, Comedy Lab's site is still up. So that's good sign :)

Do you know what else is a good sign?

Except obviously for fans of fresh and vibrant comedy.

Blimey! I consider that a bit harsh and will do until I get my rejection letter from C4, when I will be completely on your side ;)

A prodco told me there was carnage at C4 but they didn't mention comedy lab being affected. Seems you've heard the same, young Bussell?

I know comedylab's a long shot, but it'd be very frustrating if it was completely shelved.

If the recession really does bite, then nothing will be safe. Especially as I can't imagine the advertising revenue from Comedy Labs is anything to get excited about.
