I had this happen to me but with a bit of food. I started choking and there was no one around. I sort of threw/dropped myself against the back of a kitchen chair. At the same spot people would press if giving you the Heimlich. It obviously worked. It's a terrifying feeling though, isn't it?

I don't remember what I was watching, but a couple of years ago something on TV made me laugh whilst I was eating Chinese. Rice, specificially. I thought I was going to dieeeeeeeee.

Yes it was horrible. And I spilled the water on my phone too!

Arghh!! I have a huge fear of choking. I choked on a sandwich once (believe it or not) and it shit me right up, even though I laughed hysterically after it happened.

Like when you fall headfirst off a chair you've been rocking on, and you know you can't stop yourself. Or is that just me? 
I remember stumbling out of my form room at school as I choked on a cake. Luckily, I got to water fountain and managed to soften it up with water. I was quite scared by that.

I am the First Aider at work, someone was choking at lunch a few days after I had passed the course, everyone was going "do something" and I was like "I don't know what to do, I can't remember." Someone just punched the poor guy in the stomach and dislodged whatever was stuck in his throat. Now whenever I am sent on courses I listen instead of using Facebook on my phone all day.
