I've only seen the second episode. The first one sounds like it was ace though!
Will have to find it somewhere.

I'm evidently watching at the wrong time(s) of day then, because I've not seen a single trailer for it.

I don't think I've even noticed it in my TV guide either. Perhaps my eyes just automatically skip over dramas now.

I've been waiting for it for ages (I mean a couple of years now since they mentioned it on the Survivors web site).

Just recently they've had several trailers which I hadn't paid much attention to until at the end I heard the words "Survivors - coming soon."

So the publicity hasn't been that good until I saw it on the front page of my TV mag.

I've just seen this up on iPlayer but I really can't be bothered to watch it. Was ep1 any good anyone?

I think so and because I loved the original series sooooo much I'm surprised how well it's turned out.

Well I finally got round to watching this, all 5 back to back over the weekend.
I had the idea in my head it was going to be crap and really slow-paced so I kept dodging it.
How wrong I was though. I thought it was fantastic - the first episode had me drawn in from beginning to end.
The writing and direction are both superb, very well done, and creating lots of subtle and not-so-subtle subtext.
The characters are all strong and totally believable.
I'm enjoying it lots anyway, and looking forward to seeing how something like this could conclude.
How does it compare to the original Dave?

I used to watch re-runs of the originals on UK Gold about ten years ago and really liked it. I think it was quite different to this take, and there certainly wasn't any of the scientist conspiracy whatever it is sub-plot. I'm really liking this new take, except for the scientist bits, which feel wrong.
