But I am only a beginner so I guess that is not bad.
All in one go?

Quote: DrVole @ December 19 2008, 4:04 PM GMTI do that journalism. Used to be in local news - and I suspect writing a 300 word page lead on a fire/murder/wedding anniversary/rabbit rape is as formulaic as working in a lab. By the time you've got your what, when, where, who, why, how, quotes etc in, there's very little room for any creative juices you feel the need to unleash.
You don't even get to write amusing headline puns - that's a job jealously guarded by the sub-editors. The best I ever saw was about a farmer who kindly moved the young family of birds of prey discovered on his land to safety one night. The headline? 'Four kestrel manoeuvres in the dark.'
Like it!
Nail. Head.
I write celebrity news and articles, and they pretty much write themselves. I don't like prying into other people's business and I can't bare celebrity gossip - I'm clearly in the wrong job.
As DrVole suggests, my creative juices are reserved for what I consider to be my 'real' writing... and that's drama.
Hey, RubyMae, well done!
Just got my latest payment details from 118 118 have to say that feels like proper money.
I am not sure if I should
1 Buy a dinky mini laptop
2 Do a screen writing course.
3 Go on holiday to the DPRK.

Too late - we've been doing it years...and not just because you write for a living.
Heck, it's just what gets us through the day, y'know?

What's the significance of Jan 23rd Jez? Do you know of some impending global catastrophe? Should I start drinking that stashed bottle of Bowmore now?!

It had significance about six weeks ago but that reason has now past. However, a new reason has presented itself which affects our financial future but I can't divulge how right now - I'll tell you nearer the time.
Sorry to be mysterious but you'd understand why if you knew.

Good news I hope mate.
Writing my phone number on public toilet cubicle walls, is still making a living from writing, right, right?!
