No, it doesn't fit the brief of the show. They're fairly strict on the modern communications angle, though I suppose I could adapt it to downloads or something. But now we're confusing everyone with a PM conversation in the main thread.

I'd say it looks unlikely, Mikey. If your work was going to get in, then I think you would have got invited to the writers meeting or received THE email at the least. I could be wrong though.

Yeah - very good on them. Just to be clear, though, it's 20 shows but in two ten-week runs I think. After 10 weeks everyone needs a break I guess!

I think Ben's probably right, Mikey, but the Son of Tilt opportunity is coming up before too long.
Any particular tips from the 'fine art of radio sketch writing' that could be shared? Or are you all in some sort of 'magic circle' type club now that can't divulge?

Yeah and what's the secret to joining these secret clubs other than having sketches selected and broadcast by radio shows - because it seems there is some further criteria 
? Possibly not being female and not being called Daniel? 
I didn't realise Gareth Edwards was acting head of Radio comedy. He's a lovely man and once gave me some excellent pointers as to where I was going wrong with sketch writing.
Bummer. It's hard to swallow being the ONLY writer on BSG who didn't get in. 
(still seems weird that a LOT of BSG regulers got THE email, but still.)
Ah well. I will use this experience to grow.
I'll polish my radio sketch writing and wait for Son Of Tilt.

I didn't either, no worries though, I'm not good enough.
It's not the first, second or 100th knock back that counts.
It's the one that stops you producing.
Plenty of succesful writers have waited a long time before their bite of the cherry.

... neither did they say use the codeword "Badge". All it was was a condensed version of good advice you get on these forums and elsewhere, but it came straight from the mouths of people who are actually making shows week-to-week for public broadcast. Nothing too surprising in it. Stuff like: get to the funny quickly; get into the sketch as late as you can; be clear what the sketch is about and don't diverge from that too much as it confuses the audience; most sketches are longer than they need to be; etc, etc.
Hope I'm not in for a bollocking now.
Ah cool! Cheers Badge/Griff. Nice to know it's all out there already and what we've heard in the past.
