The Class

Anyone seen this? I recently 'acquired' the first season. We've only watched about 6 episodes, but I really like it. It's quite 'Friends' like in the humour and the situation, but has strong enough characters and chemistry to make it quite individual.

Basically, it focusses on 8 people who went to primary school together and got back together at a reunion one of them organised. There are different levels of romantic chemistry between 4 pairs of the 8. It's pretty funny. bets of all, it keeps the beautiful Andrea Anders in work!

Heard about it, never seen it. I do know that Lucy Punch was in Hot Fuzz and Lizzy Caplan makes me go "bowchickawowow!" Laughing out loud

Never heard of it. Might have to check it out with such high recommendation though. :)

If anyone wants to check it out, it's here:

Didn't know who Lizzy Caplan was. IMDB'd her and I quite agree with Hotzappa. Wow!!!!

I had to Google her. But nothing special IMO. :/

I've been watching this all week, it's OK but I think it's one of those for-every-hit-US-show-that's-made-there-are-a-hundred-really-bad-ones*

*I don't think it's really that bad but it's not up there with Frazier, Will and Grace*, Cheers, Friends, Golden Girls,Malcolm in the Middle, Scrubs, Gilligan's Island, Taxi, Arrested Development.....

*I didn't like Will and Grace, I loved Karen and Jack.

Can I just take a moment to crawl out of my box and express how much I utterly despise this programme? It's a perfect example of the worst of US TV - meaningless, pappy, packaged and produced for mass audiences and as a result so middle-range that it lacks anything whatsoever of it's own identity.

But if I'm honest, what I really hate, is that campy ginger guy who nobody ever seems to notice is cripplingly, debilitatingly gay and yet is going out with a woman! Who, while we're here, has the most absurd, irritating speech defect that I am literally unable to think of anything else as I watch her. I originally thought she was disabled, but no - it's just a really bizarre way of speaking!

Bile spewn, I feel duly cleansed. Please don't think me prejudiced against homosexuals or speech defects, or indeed homosexuals with speech defects, just these two.

Thankyou and goodnight.

Crawls back into box.

With such a ringing endorsement, I really am going to have to check this one out! It sounds quite ... yes.

Well, I hate this show as well, but it's mainly because one of my ideas from my sitcom has been used in it. Then again hopefully, only a few people actually watch this.

I watched maybe 3 or 4 episodes from the first season and while it seemed somewhat promising at first, I couldn't get into it at all in the long run and thus stopped watching. The main problem besides the general unfunnyness was the fact that unlike Friends where they're, you know, friends and thus hang out together, or other sitcoms where people work together or are family or whatever other situation you have, the writers couldn't come up with good enough scenarios to bring the characters together, so it was a bit all over the place. Plus they started developing romances in like episode two, which I found superlame as who cares about the characters at that point?

And the whole "haha this lady's husband is gay!" joke got old within a nanosecond. Christ.

Of course, this was all judgment based on a few eps so perhaps I jumped the gun but when there was better comedy coming from the US to be watched (like 30 Rock, HIMYM or The Big Bang Theory), why would I waste more of my time with this one?

Let's just hope your idea is a vast improvement.

Has there been any mention of why the gay bloke married the girl?

Hate to burst your bubble but this was cancelled after first season.
