When the shows credits opened and the letters of Fawlty Towers were always rearranged to spell something else, what was your favourite?

I liked Farty Towels.

I remember getting a clip round the ear from Mum when I read out loud the 'flowery twats' one! I'd never heard of a twat at that stage.

Exactly the same thing happened to me! I must have been six or seven at the time!

It has not aged well, and I just do not find it funny; contrived, repetitive and very much overrated are what spring to mind.

It's aged perfectly well. I'd take it over anything on our screens today.

It's deliberately contrived. It's farce.

If you want to believe it has aged well and it comforts you, then I am pleased.
