Only married men can know! ;)

You are right. Sadly.
I was only engaged and living with my fiance for a number of years and I swear that has put me off relationships for life never mind bloody marriage!
There were stress levels during that time would never ever have been there otherwise!

Why does it work for some people though?

No one's saying that religion invented them. It merely promotes them. They may be simple, but they're not core, natural, instinctive ways to behave or act. We're naturally selfish, competitive, hunter-gatherers, living for self-preservation alone with little concern over others.

Oh. Well I've always thought they *were* natural and instinctive.
Maybe I'm wrong.

No, that she won't take it up the ass.. what d'you think?

Only married men can know! ;)

:O

Hmmm. Well women sound like a right pain in the arse in that case.
I wouldn't marry one.

I think the thing is that to be happily married to a woman (if you're a man..) is that you have to change your direction quite markedly for it to work! Women call it compromise. Basically, the married womans version of compromise is where you have to do what she wants and it only works if you agree it's what you want too (especially when it isn't..)

A woman expects a man to change when he marries, but he doesn't and the man expects the woman to stay the same, but she doesn't. It's weird.

Only married men know..

Luck? Lots and lots and lots of luck?

But what does the luck do that the individuals can't?

But what does the luck do that the individuals can't?

I meant luck that two compatible souls managed to find each other.
I'm only going on my own experience, and I've heard the same thing time and time again.

Why does it work for some people though?

Hard work, communication, respect, willingness to share the good and bad, accepting that the first rush of love settles into a deeper kind of love that means you would do anything for the person you are sharing your life with, being best friends as well as lovers.

Which is fine because most in this class don't like me anyways (I get the impression at least).

It's the paedo beard that does it. ;)

As for the rest of your response if you mean there are lessons to be learned like a Fairy Tail has lessons to be learned then fine.

Prezunctly.

Mmm. I'm not so sure. I just think that a lot of people are increasingly selfish and cannot live in a couple. Aoart from the initial attraction and compatibility it does require some effort, compromise, realism and sacrifice. I just think lots of people cannot do that in order to make a relationship last.
