Yes
Thanks for the replies folks. I've just managed to get a contract drawn up between a historian I looked up and I to work on a screenplay as a joint venture. It would be braveheart meets gladiator. Do you guys think I did the right thing drawing up the contract? It's just so both of us have got piece of mind so that neither of us will be ripped off.

Leave the ripping off and fleecing to the lawyers.
Seems a bit OTT to me though. I'd just handwrite something with two signatures, if that.
It was also a set of guidelines of how to deal with a big time production company, incase new writers are brought in, script becomes the work of someone else'e, fighting to keep screen credit etc.

Oh they're easy. Leave it to the actors to screw it up.
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ December 14 2008, 10:57 AM GMTI love Hammer Horrors too. My poem was more about Waterman's invaluable contribution to TV drama.
I actually found my poem. And I'd just like to stress that (as will be clear) that it was written in one go, in about two minutes. Maybe not even that long.
Do you think I should send it to him?
Sorry Bex - I don't think so. When I saw the start I thought you'd written it when you were about 12 - but you are a bit older than that aren't you!

Not much older . Don't worry I'm not going to send it to him. I'm going to email him a link to this instead. And I'm working on some extra verses about him and Rula Lenska in the style of Petrarchan sonnets. Though not much rhymes with Rula, except 'hula' or maybe 'Ferris Bueller' and 'cooler' in a Lancashire accent.
Petula - they've been looking for a rhyme for that for years.

(according to Petula)...
Mmm needs some work methinks...

Brilliant! You've missed your vocation.

I am sure you can work waterman and water cooler in.
I've just started writing for a new magazine called MyM. I'm their "Manga expert", doing reviews of manga comics and anime DVDs.

I have no idea what this means now.
I write children's books. My latest book - THE 13TH HORSEMAN - is a crossover age group thing, with probably as many adults reading as kids.
The other series I'm writing is a horror series, and I've just finished the 6th and final book. I also ghost-write a lot of books, including a lot based on Cartoon Network shows (Ben 10, Generator Rex, etc).
I've had a few screenplays optioned over the years, but nothing ever produced. I'd really love to get summat on the telly, though.
I have just written an arrangement of 'Passion Chorale' for my music arranging course and am currently writng a play as part of (strangely enough) a sciptwritng course. Lot of courses going on.
