Remakes better than the original? Page 2
The 1956 colour remake of Alfred Hitchcock's own 1934, 'The Man Who Knew too Much'.
I liked Scorcesse's remake of Cape Fear. Both great films.
Quote: Griff @ December 15 2008, 3:19 PM GMTAlso, the new one is closely based on the novel. Marc P is just toying with us.
The Departed

Me too.
"Councilloooor! Come out, come out wherever you are!"

OK so it looks like there have been loads of great thriller/horror/sci-fi remakes.
Comedy remakes anyone?
Chips liked the new St Trinians. Can;t think why!
Quote: Griff @ December 15 2008, 3:26 PM GMTAlso while I remember, I think Vanilla Sky is just as good as the original Spanish version.
It's a bit too long for my liking.

How dare you suggest I liked the new St. Trinians! I'll see you in court.

Sorry my mistake I was thinking of 'Girl with a pearl earring.'

Was this an actual remake?

I've actually got that picture on my hard drive. I do like a sexy gal with a pointing device.
I suppose Pretty WOman was a remake of My Fair Lady without songs and cockernees.
SO sometimes if you take an old story/myth/egend etc it can be done afressh in a new comedy version.
My Fair Lady based on Pygmalion based on the old Greek myth. The esential elements as in Pretty Woman are all there.
There was a comedy romatic play once called Mister Cinders for example.
I won;t go on about Roxanne and Cyranno then.
Little Shop Of Horrors
