Recorded For Training Purposes (Series 3) Page 19

I'm Pete. I'd have stuck around to say hello, but we had to shoot off back up North asap. Such is life north of South Mimms services.

Anyway, Antrax was right - two of mine were used last night, so it was well worth braving a horrendous drive down through the spray on the M1 and a miserable, wet, grey day.

1500 submissions - how on earth do they get through them all....??

As for the non-comms meeting on Friday it sounds like it's some people who were good and they might want some re-writes, and some people who show potential but managed to write the same sketch as about 300 other people (i.e. using a ouija board and getting through to a call centre/automated helpline, a satnav that either falls in love with the driver or turns into Hal from 2001 etc.). Whichever you are, make the effort to go and you should find it very useful.

That does not sound good for anyone who did not get an invite...

I had a sketch called 999 problems and one called A eh which were about automated phone systems.

Does any one know if it was one of them used?

Please put me out of my pitiful misery.

I'm the same - my surname begins with an A and I wrote an automated 999 sketch - I would have tried to be more original but it was before I discovered this site!

And no email for me, so doubt it's mine.

No e-mail for me either, any one who was there fancy having a peek at my sketch?

I wasn't there sootyj - but I'm always happy to have a nose - for some reason I haven't started using crit section yet.

'Actors instead of Tvs' sounds tremendous. Cracking idea.

I did anti-social mobile (among others). Dunno if the one recorded was mine tho'...

Good, professional sketch there. Nice and short too, which from reading what you chaps say, is what they go for. Double-joke ending too - nice.

Mine was about a three pager so I'd say more likely yours than mine; though it could've been any of the 400 or so they got on the same theme!

Oh and SootyJ - that second sketch of yours is mine, only better.

and Girl form Ipanema a massive belly laugh I reckon.

Mine is crazily long looking back - I won't paste it lest I get this thread shut down.

Ooh - just saw what Griff sent. I wasn't having a dig chief!

Fair enough Griff - I'm biding my time until I bare my comic bones in the critique section. Well, waiting for the others to come up to scratch...

Right, those two 999 sketches aren't familiar I'm afraid. The 999 bit was a punchline in the recorded one, rather than the premise.

Cheers for letting us know Antrax - did the bloke have an argument with the recorded message, by the by?

This is all getting very nail biting. :)

My sketches were:

1) FISH OUT OF WATER.
A customer phones a pet shop telephone mail order service and tries to order a fish out of water.

2) WIND UP RADIO.
Short, silly sketch.

3) SHOP ANNOUNCEMENTS.
Cheekily, I put three shop tannoy announcements in one sketch in the hope that they create three runners out of them.

I hope the BBC have got Office 2007 like me as I'm finiding that a lot of people are having trouble opening my docs in earlier Word versions.

I didn't receive an email so I doubt I'll get any of mine recorded.
